Here's the story on my VERY OWN COMPUTER!! As you can tell I'm very excited about this. Well, anyway, it all started last July. Me and my dad went to dell.com to look at some laptops. We decided on the Dell Inspiron 5100. It was $1,565. Waaay too much. So then we decided on the Dell Inspiron 1100, only or something. Then, after an agonizing 4 months or so, I still wasn't even close to that much money. So, we settled on a computer. We decided on the Dell Dimension 4600 Desktop (which is what I have now). It's prices jumped all over, from to to $1,029.34, which is the price I bought it at. Anyway, my parents helped me with the last dollars but Dell sent a rebate (which I still haven't found!!) So anyway, on January 6th, we ordered it, and it came on the 9th. It came VERY fast. I didn't have it on the Internet for about 6 days, but then on January 15th, the cable modem came so now I'm online! And it's so cool because we're getting a wireless router so we can hook up all 3 computers to the internet and still use the phone at the same time. So, that's the story!

Cable Modem
We bought a cable modem to go with my computer instead of a regular modem. This means we can be online and use the phone at the same time because it's a CABLE modem not one with a PHONE LINE. We're going to network our 3 computers to use this cable modem and my mom will be pleased because she can use the phone at the same time! Plus, me and my dad can play poker against each other with our cousin Ray's online poker program! www.pokerprofessional.com Just a li'l publicity!

Wireless Router
We are also getting a wireless router. This is going to sit with the cable modem. It just allows all the computers to be hooked up to the cable modem without all those cords everywhere.
